Entrepreneurship runs in the family
A shared family passion is the key to our success, with the same spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation continually passed down the generations.
Daniel Le Coënt wrote the first chapter of the story in 1969. Encouraged by his father-in-law Henri Wirquin, a sanitary equipment wholesaler in Nantes, he had the innovative idea of manufacturing plastic flushing mechanisms. The breakthrough for this trailblazing concept came in 1972 with the opening of a production site in Carquefou on the outskirts of Nantes.
Wirquin was set up as a public limited company in 1977. Daniel Le Coënt was its President with his wife, Marie-Laure, as General Manager. This was the start of a great success story, resolutely driven by innovation.
Globally connected leaders
Grégory Le Coënt has been Vice President of the Wirquin Group since 2018. The Wirquin Group’s governance is centered on the Executive Management, the HR and Quality of Life at Work Department and the Group Operations Department.
This governance defines the Group’s objectives.
